Doula Services Overview

What I Offer

I provide calm, reassuring support and evidence-based guidance — from antenatal preparation and birth support to postnatal care and doula mentoring.

Every session is shaped around your unique needs, questions, and circumstances, so you feel informed, supported, and confident at each stage of your journey.

Preparing for the arrival of your baby isn’t just about packing a hospital bag — it’s about feeling informed, calm, and confident about the journey ahead. One of the most empowering things you can do is to understand what to expect during childbirth and the choices available to you.

I offer evidence antenatal classes, with or without hypnobirthing, designed to give you both knowledge and practical tools. Together, we’ll explore:

  • The stages of labour and what’s happening in your body

  • Breathing, relaxation, and movement techniques that support comfort and calm

  • The role of your birth partner and how they can support you

  • The medical options that may be offered, and how to make informed decisions for you and your baby

Whether you’re planning a completely physiological birth, or know that medical support may be part of your journey, these sessions will help you feel prepared and positive.

My aim is to help you release fears, trust your body and instincts, and approach birth with confidence. And if you’d like me to walk alongside you beyond the classes, I can also be there as your doula — supporting you to put everything into practice when your baby’s birth day arrives.

Postnatal support

Mother Baby Bonding

A few days after your baby’s arrival, I’ll visit to offer calm, reassuring support as you begin life together as a new family. This time can be full of joy, but it can also feel overwhelming and bring lots of questions. My role is to give you space to talk through your birth experience, answer the questions that naturally arise, and offer practical support around feeding, recovery, and newborn care.

If you’d like extra help beyond my role, I can connect you with a trusted network of professionals — from experienced lactation consultants and tongue-tie specialists to bodywork practitioners and postnatal therapists. Having this circle of support means you don’t need to search alone when you need additional expertise.

During the first six weeks, I remain available to you for:

  • Gentle reassurance and a listening ear

  • Top tips on surviving the first few weeks

  • Feeding support, including breastfeeding guidance if desired

  • Practical tips for recovery and newborn care

  • Signposting to trusted professionals for additional needs

And while I frame postnatal support as lasting for six weeks, in reality my role often continues far beyond that. Families regularly return to me for guidance as their children grow — whether it’s preparing for a second or third baby, navigating new phases like weaning, or simply needing reassurance from someone who knows their journey.

My aim is to help you feel confident, cared for, and well-resourced — not just in the early weeks, but for the years ahead

Birth Doula

Birth is one of the most transformative and personal experiences you’ll ever have. No two stories are the same, and my role is to support you in finding the path that feels right for you.

As your doula, I bring a calm, steady presence throughout labour — offering emotional reassurance, hands-on comfort (like massage, breathing techniques, and position guidance), and a safe space where you and your partner can feel confident and heard.

Whether your plan is for a home birth, a midwife-led unit, or a hospital birth, I’ll support you to feel informed, respected, and empowered in every decision you make. I also work with a high level of professionalism and collaboration alongside your medical team, helping to keep communication open and positive so you feel truly supported by everyone in the room.

After your baby arrives, my care continues — helping you settle into those first precious hours with skin-to-skin contact, early feeding support, and a nurturing presence as you step into parenthood.

My goal is simple: to make sure you feel supported, confident, and cared for — whatever shape your birth takes.

Mentoring & Coaching for Doulas

I’m a BirthBliss Doula Coach, where I coached doulas through the BirthBliss accreditation process. This is an advanced training programme for  BirthBliss doulas. I also welcome any doula — wherever you trained or however you came to this work — to reach out for mentoring and support.

Supporting new doulas is something I feel truly passionate about. Those first steps into the world of doula'ing can feel exhilarating, but also a little overwhelming. Having someone alongside you who understands both the emotional and practical realities of this role can make all the difference.

Before becoming a doula, I spent over 20 years in senior leadership roles in the IT industry, where mentoring, coaching, and supporting teams was central to my work. Combined with my experience as a doula and hypnobirthing teacher, this means I bring a blend of professional insight, business know-how, and deep compassion to my mentoring.

As a coach and mentor, I offer:

  • A safe, non-judgemental space to share your questions, worries, and wins.

  • Gentle encouragement and supportive feedback to help you grow in confidence with clients.

  • Practical guidance on building a sustainable business — from boundaries and fees to marketing and self-care.

  • Honest reflections that help you discover your own authentic style and voice as a doula.

My aim is always to walk beside you, not to tell you how to be a doula. Together we can find the path that feels right for you — helping you feel resourced, confident, and inspired as you grow into this rewarding work.
